DESIGNER LAMP MADE OF MOUTH-BLOWN GLASS
The Henningsen Floor Lamp L by Poul Henningsen is a noble lamp in Scandinavian design. The three-part shade is made of mouth-blown opal glass and casts a beautiful glow in any room - whether in the living room, bedroom, or workspace. The designer Poul Henningsen took the logarithmic spiral as a model to create a particularly beautiful light on a scientific basis. Today, the lamp, which was designed in the 1920s, is a versatile classic and an integral part of interiors all over the world.
HIGHEST-QUALITY MATERIALS FOR FIRST-CLASS DESIGN
The lamp was designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system that directs most of the light downwards. The shades are made of mouth-blown, opalized, three-layered glass, glossy on the outside and matt sandblasted on the inside, resulting in a soft and diffuse light distribution. The base and stem are made of polished chrome-plated brass and steel.

DENMARK (September 9, 1894 - January 31, 1967) Having grown up at the turn of the century in a small Danish town without electricity, Henningsen wanted to recreate the soft gas lighting of his youth with his electric fixtures. Composed of concentric tiers of reflective painted metal bands, the PH design was carefully based on scientific analysis of a lamp shade’s function. The goal of even distribution of light and reduction of glare determined the size, shape and position of the shades. It is a testament to the Scandinavian aesthetic – and Henningsen’s genius – that a group of lighting fixtures derived from scientific principles can exude such warmth, elegance and soul
