Designer
Inspired by Pierre Paulin
Trained as a stone carver and ceramicist, French furniture designer and interior designer Pierre Paulin gained an interest in Scandinavian and Japanese Design whilst working with the Gascoin company in Le Havre. During his time at Artifort in the 1960's, his chair designs were considered very modern and unique and kick-started the successes of his designs. Focusing on comfort as a starting point, Paulin focussed on rounder, more comfortable shapes that are still being used in chairs today.
