ENGLAND ( 1892 - 1984 ) Born into a family involved in a prestigious lighting manufacturing company, Dudley Best sought to create a new collection that would embody the spirit of the modern age and appeal to avant-garde architects. Inspired by his studies in industrial design and friendship with Walter Gropius, the founder of the Bauhaus movement, Best began sketching the iconic Bestlite design. Although the initial lamps found unexpected success in auto repair shops and the Royal Air Force for their functionality, they have now become beloved by architects, designers, and homeowners who appreciate its genuine and independent design. Today, Bestlite is frequently found in hotels, restaurants, and the homes of design enthusiasts.
